The most Simple Lessons in Gold Mining Never End!

Post by Dave Mack » Sun Apr 11, 2021 10:23 pm

Several of our members have been sluicing in a pay layer covered by three feet of silty sand which they just shoveled out of their way for several weeks. Then they discovered that there was enough gold in the sand that it should have also been processed through the sluice. They share their story in our April newsletter as a precaution so maybe others won't make the same simple mistake.

The newsletter includes some thoughts from me, Dickey Melton, and the girls in our office. Mostly, we want to let you know we remain in business and expect to have a rather busy upcoming mining season. You can find the newsletter here:

Yes Sir, Full Speed Ahead.

A very good point - NEVER just assume that some layer or other isn't productive until you test it first. One simple, important and very common attribute to "Lucky Miners' success " is to test early and often. By doing that they simply make their own good fortune by finding occasional Gold rich anomalies.

Spring has pretty much struck - time to set plans and get ready.
