Hello all.
We're looking forward to the outing and some prospecting in June and wondering if details are known yet.
We would also like a report on the gold in the Klamath around the I-5 and where your honey holes are.
Our apreciation in advance.

June 22 & 23, 2019 according to the website. I do not know for sure, but I think it may take place on the Sluice Box claim (K-13). It would be a good idea to double-check that information. I think I have studied every rock on the claim with Google Earth while preparing for my visit there in a few days, but unfortunately the image I have studied so hard was taken in 2015. I suspect some of those rocks may have been moved by now....

Oregon Jim, You might want to check with the office for the club outing location. I last heard that the location has been change to a location down river below Happy Camp

I was curious how the June event went? I am planning on going to the event in August. May just spend the week up there. I am new and have only been to Happy Camp once earlier in the year. Water was way to high when i went, so i am really curious to see how the group event was.

Hello ShinDig:

I was part of the outing and I'd have to say it was pretty awesome. 45 members plus awesome help from the club experts and Dave, 2 high bankers with non-mechanical water supply using head pressure from a creek, and a significant amount of elbow grease moving large rocks and shoveling pay dirt from a sampled area some 50 feet above river level. After some sampling on Saturday, we met early Sunday morning, split into ad hoc teams, and got to work. My guess is that some 150+ buckets of classified pay dirt went through the high bankers/stream sluices. We dug for around 4-5 hours, then cleaned everything up and met back at headquarters. The final take? Right around 0.7 ounces, including 33 nuggets! Each participant share came to around 5.5 grains. All in all, a great learning experience, and I had fun meeting other members as well. I'm hoping to return for the July outing if my schedule permits. --Rob Toth, new club member.
