My Absence
Just a note to let folks know that I will not be online for an unknown period of time. I am scheduled for triple bypass heart surgery on July 14rh. They have not told me how long I will be hospitalized, so, I'll let folks know when I am back online.
Be good an play nice while I am gone or Joe will get his big stick out.

Re: My Absence
"Big Stick Joe" here!
(I just couldn't pass that up!)
Jim, Hope to see you back in the saddle really soon. Until then just keep a pumpin' away.
ALSO - be sure they use Genuine Honda Parts.

U P D A T E
I've learned that Jim's surgeons elected to go with a quadruple (instead of the anticipated triple) bypass and that the heart surgery, itself, went very well. He has not (as of 8:30 AM, 15 July) woke up on his own yet - possibly due to old (or even, maybe, a new) stroke. He is being cared for as though he had experienced a new stroke, just to be on the safe side, and it has come down to a wait-and-see situation for the moment this morning.
The bypasses had completely repaired all the heart blood flow problems, however, the old (or maybe new) stroke situation has, it seems, delayed his post surgical waking up.

Re: My Absence
Hello, this Linda Jim's wife. Jim is still not woke up. They did a CT scan and it showed he had multiple small strokes, but they can't tell when the strokes happened. It is believed now that he isn't waking up because of the strokes. At this point all we can do is wait and pray for his recovery. I am so sorry for this sad news.

Re: My Absence
A neurologist is evaluating Jim's condition now - more as I find out.
I'm leaving for Alaska in a few hours - I'll be on the 'net with the smart phone to keep up on Jim's progress.
Joe S
*** Preliminary info - Neurologist said that there was a stroke during the surgery. More to follow.

Re: My Absence
This morning they put Jim on a C-Pap. He is breathing on his own and the oxygen is only for back-up. Looking up! Power of prayer!

Re: My Absence
I am sad to say I misunderstood the nurse. he is not on a C-pap. It is only a setting on the ventilator. There is no change. Today marks a week.
