EMERGENCY ALERT WALDO MINING DISTRICT

Post by Jim_Alaska » Fri Apr 12, 2019 12:50 pm

Tom Kitchar, president of The Waldo Mining District has put out a plea for the help of all miners in the case of the Bohmker v. Oregon as it moves toward possible consideration by the U.S. Supreme Court. He is asking miners everywhere to start a massive letter writing campaign in the hope that the court will take this case. If they don't take it, or we lose, it could be the end of mining on any scale in Oregon.

This can have far reaching effects for other states also, especially California which has already banned mining. This is probably our last chance to bring mining back, please consider looking over the information on the Waldo website and taking action to help. https://www.waldominingdistrict.org/

Thanks Jim... and to Dave too for his great support of our efforts.

PLEASE EVERYONE... DROP EVERYTHING YOU ARE DOING AND WRITE/SEND SOME LETTERS! The U.S. Supreme Court will meet on April 26 (two weeks from today) to decide which cases they will hear, and which to deny. We can't win if we don't get heard!

At this point, NOTHING you are doing is more important than sending some letters! And not just one... there are 9 Justices, they each need a letter.... and you are urged to send multiple letters to each, as in DAILY!

For more information and printable Sample Letters go to www.waldominingdistrict.org
You can print, date & sign the sample letters, or even better, write your own. Even a simple one sentence letter:
"Please accept the Bohmker v Oregon case" is good enough! (and way better than no letter at all!)

Our goal is 1,000's of letters....

Please do your part to help save our Living Heritage of mining in the West!
Thanks you.
