Re: This Coming Season

And here, all along, I thought you were just in your recliner, sawing logs. It makes me feel better that, from time to time, I suffer an uncommanded logout from the forum - with the same "Lost in Space" results.

Glad you're back in the saddle!

Re: This Coming Season

Jim,

I saw a 'church sign' on the way to the pharmacy yesterday that was a great reminder of an old, wise saying. It even works here.

Well now!

I guess Dave chose to remove the newsletter for some (good) reason and the error just showed up that way.

Thank you, Jim, for the information.

Re: Lead (Pb) in Cons

Excellent thought, Harry! If it's Platinum then it would take a LOT of heat to melt it - 1772 degrees C. (3,132.6 F.), while Lead melts @ 328 C. (621 F.). Pretty easy to see - say holding it with tweezers, needle nosed pliers or something similar - if it took a lot of heat or not so much heat to mel...

Re: Lead (Pb) in Cons

The blue Bowl is slow, but would allow you to snuffer out only the gold, leaving the lead. Jim, Something to think about - from the beach at Nome: The beaches around Nome were covered with miners around 1900. "Tin Cans" in that time era were soldered shut (while very hot) to allow the sterilized (u...

Re: Lead (Pb) in Cons

n2 - there is the "Usual Way" and a "Most Unusual Way" to get rid of Lead (natural Lead or bullet fragments, or maybe even solder pieces) from your final concentrates. The Usual Way is by careful panning of tightly classified final concentrates. Lead has a Specific Gravity (SG) of a little over 11 (...
