Re: The most Simple Lessons in Gold Mining Never End!

Yes Sir, Full Speed Ahead. A very good point - NEVER just assume that some layer or other isn't productive until you test it first. One simple, important and very common attribute to "Lucky Miners' success " is to test early and often. By doing that they simply make their own good fortune by finding...

Re: crickets...

Jeez Jim, His idea of a lot of Gold' is certainly a lot different than most folks I know. I will say that her "mining costume" is a little less than practical. Every one of the girls that go mining with me all wear lots of clothes - and find lots more Gold than they were recovering in...

Re: crickets...

Bill - I hear crickets every second I'm awake thanks to the miracle of Tinnitus. ;) Usually the forums do get a bit quiet this time of year - however THIS year the stupidity about the virus has really compounded the quiet, AND, adding to that of course, there is the wet blanket (I say water boarding...

LR 2000 Woes - You Should Know About This

I have been a subscriber to The ICMJ (and the other, sometimes used new name, California Mining Journal) magazine for years. It is a standard, highly respected magazine, targeting the mining sub groups that we all are a part of. The January, 2021 edition just hit my mail box yesterday and the "Bawl ...

Hey Mike!

Magically everyone just turned 21 again. :o

Do you remember how every thing was possible when you turned that magic number the first time? Lets give it another shot and see if we get it right this time.

Re: STEERABLE WINCH FAIRLEAD (PLUS MORE)

WOW, Tom!!! QUITE the rig you made there - and obviously a LOT of concentrated thinking went into designing it "Just So". For me, however, the rocks aren't the real problem - rather it's the the wheeler going over OMG terrain and ending in an OOPS kind of situation (Occurrence Of Puckering Significa...

Re: The largest hoax in the history of mankind!

Thank you, Dave.

I watched it (some things known, some things not) and passed it on as well. Funny thing - I just saw where a good friend just forwarded it TO me. Small world.

Re: Underwater sluicing ........

Ron, The entire story would take hours and hours to go through. Top that off with the narrator needing a super human memory to recall all the endless details, twists and turns over the last few years. Suffice to say that there has been, and is now, hope that the right outcome will eventually bubble...

Re: The town of Happy Camp was nearly taken out by a firestorm!

The day before yesterday, in Northern Idaho, we were evacuated due to a really fast moving, large fire caused and powered by very high winds, feeding on high amounts of no rain in many weeks dry vegetation. Long story short, 1/2 mile from the house it was finally stopped due to the superior efforts ...
