Re: Happy Camp critters
To the northwest of the K-15 camping area, there was a burned area on the south side of Tim's Peak. It was coming down off that hillside. I hope it is an indication of a population of them.

Re: Happy Camp critters
Jim, I did not know they were that rare, so I didn't report it to anyone at the time, though I did speak of it at the office to Montine when I was there. After reading the article you posted I sent a note to the Dept. of Fish and Wildlife to tell them about it. Perhaps someone will be interested. I ...

Re: Happy Camp critters
There is no doubt Jim. I had time to observe it for close to a minute from less than fifty yards and it was in no hurry. From snout to tail it was surely four feet or better, though it wasn't at all tall like a dog or any other critter. The thing that stands out most in my memory was its huge fluffy...

Re: Happy Camp critters
It was really exciting to me even though the sighting was brief. I watched it come down a hill and cross the road as it moved towards the river. It was an adult with a beautiful coat and magnificent tail. It is hard to believe such a pretty animal can have such a reputation as they do. When you see ...

Re: Hello all from the Great State Of Texas
My plan was to shovel and bucket material into the sluice like they have been doing in the group outings. It seems to be the most efficient system to process material we have right now. I'll classify material down to 1/2 inch and feed the sluice as fast as it can take it. Unfortunately, I have no id...

Re: Hello all from the Great State Of Texas
Nothing has changed as of a few days ago. I received a letter from a club member stating it did not look like we'd see any change this summer, so the safe bet is to assume we will be under the same "no motorized equipment" rule. I hate it just like everyone else, but I am trying to look at the brigh...

diving day with Dave and Rich
Long ago I had the opportunity to join Dave and Richard Krimm for a day on the river. Mostly I just helped to clear cobbles from piling up behind Dave's pontoons but I also took a few minutes to play with my new Go Pro camera. I was wearing a heavy wetsuit to stay warm, but was not wearing any weigh...

Re: Klamath River Gold
I don't think there is any problem with running dirt into your sluice. That would just be dumb.
