Re: Underwater sluicing ........
Head pressure and volume... you must have both to get adequate suction on a nozzle, but lift is another issue. How high will your slurry be lifted to reach your sluice? If you are thinking of discharging the slurry into an under-water sluice, you are battling hose pressure against river water pressu...

Klamath River Gold
Klamath River Gold I know there are examples of gold nuggets from the Klamath River that weigh ounces and perhaps a few that weigh more, but most (perhaps 80-90% by weight) of the gold I have personally seen is small enough to fall through a #8 mesh screen. It isn't rare to find nuggets larger than ...

Re: Underwater sluicing ........
I think the big stopper for your plan (if in California) is your air supply. You would have to use air tanks instead of compressed air from a hookah system because of the motor. NO MOTORIZED EQUIPMENT FOR MINING includes the hookah compressor motor. If you had a large air compressor and enough large...

Re: Underwater sluicing ........
I'll give an opinion; though it is just that. There was an effort by club members to create an under water mining system and during that time one of the club members made an amazing strike, but after some initial enthusiasm the idea appeared to peter out. I assume that for most people the venture wa...

Re: California dredging permit's?
Thank you for posting that!
I wonder if anyone has information pertaining to the testing that has been performed on the Klamath River where the club's claims are. There must be studies of turbidity, mercury, and other things that go back for decades.

Re: Sluice mats... Gold Hog mats
The most amazing thing I have seen in mining so far is the ability of that fine v-matting they put at the top of almost all small sluice boxes. I have seen little four-inch long strips of that mat material hang onto small pieces of gold like magic as bucket after bucket of material crossed the mats....

Re: Sluice mats... Gold Hog mats
I hope they will work well in my sluice. I'll be testing the UR and Scrubber mats and hope they will perform well for me.

Sluice mats... Gold Hog mats
Have any of you tested any of the Gold Hog mats in your sluices or dredges? They appear to be good, but I haven't had a chance to give them a good test yet. Any opinions out there? https://drive.google.com/file/d/18X_h-T ... sp=sharing
