Re: Happy Camp critters
I have seen several BIG bears there, and I do mean HUGE! I also saw a cub run across the road one day that could not have been much bigger than a bowling ball. It was as cute as a kitten!

I suspect you will have to actually do the work of setting up your water line to see if you will have enough force to do as you hope. Still, even if it is inadequate for dredging into a sluice, it should be powerful enough to provide some suction at your nozzle. I suppose you could use that merely t...

Happy Camp critters
I figured out how to share a few pictures, so here is a few of the animals I have seen at Happy Camp. I deeply regret that I wasn't able to photograph the wolverine I saw. It was magnificent! I also missed getting elk pictures. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JkZdwoRinaN4yAepQKUza3Fxx83DYlge/view?u...

I posted this picture on another post, but this is how my plan started. It just didn't work, so I am making big changes and will post pictures of the finished sluice when it is done. At least you can have a vague idea of what I am trying to do. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YiiHCqtHLClCbj1RSrmsg2...

Re: Sluice mats... Gold Hog mats
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YiiHCqtHLClCbj1RSrmsg2Dpzr2oilyY/view?usp=sharing I hope this picture appears correctly. This is sort of what I am aiming at, but there will be big changes too. The sluice must be (has been) moved beneath the frame and I have made it so that I can adjust the sluice l...

Re: Underwater sluicing ........
It would be logical to assume a hookah would be considered a breathing apparatus instead of mining equipment, but logic and California don't go together well. If it has a motor or an engine, you'll likely see your gear confiscated and yourself in a pickle.
