Re: MINER'S PETITION TO CHANGE FEDERAL REGULATIONS

It is best if people go to the link to Waldo to read the petition. These forums do not allow posting a .pdf file. It's only one click of the mouse to go over there and read it.

The classification problem you ran into is common for a sluice that is in the water, rather than above the water. The addition of gravity when t...

Re: Floating sluice

Jim, there is almost always plenty of room at Sluice box. I have never seen it what I would call crowded, maybe three rigs at max.

There is also an RV park, grocery and restaurant at Seiad, which is close by Sluice box.

Re: Happy Camp critters

Thanks Jim, sounds like you did see one. I found some Wolverine tracks a few years ago, on a high ridge, near the Oregon border. I know it was Wolverine because I used to trap them in Alaska and am familiar with their tracks.

Re: Happy Camp critters

Jim, are you sure you saw a Wolverine? They seem to be very rare to non-existent here in California. Here's a link to an article about it.

EMERGENCY ALERT WALDO MINING DISTRICT

Tom Kitchar, president of The Waldo Mining District has put out a plea for the help of all miners in the case of the Bohmker v. Oregon as it moves toward possible consideration by the U.S. Supreme Court. He is asking miners everywhere to start a massive letter writing campaign in the hope that the c...
